The Commonality of Rush Limbaugh & Barbie.

I bet you didn’t know that famed Conservative talk show host, Rush Limbaugh and Barbie share something in common?  What pray tell? They both struggle when it comes to math.

Remember back in 1994 when Teen Talk Barbie hit the market speaking the phrase, “Math is hard!” releasing a firestorm of criticism against the doll and Mattel?  Well, today, I happened to be listening to the Rush Limbaugh program and as Rush was talking about the proposed housing bailout for some 9 million people (since revised to 3-4 million) he said (I’m paraphrasing), “Why not simply give each of the 9 million people a million dollars and be done?  That’s a lot cheaper than the 75 billion they are proposing.”

Fortunately for Rush, someone on his crack staff caught this obvious error and corrected him posthaste.  If you were to give 9 million people a million dollars each, the total would NOT be 9 million dollars, rather it would be 9 trillion dollars (assuming my math is correct).

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has trouble with math!
